As many church leaders in America are “losing their passion for ministry,” James Ross, preaching the Convention Sermon at the 2021 Florida Baptist annual meeting, suggested seven ways that these leaders can “lean” if they seek to “lose their lives for the sake of the gospel.”

Tampa pastor Paul Purvis was elected as the 2021-22 Florida Baptist State Convention President during the Nov. 9 annual meeting at The Lakes Church in Lakeland.
“It’s easy to get together. It’s a little tricky to stay together,” said Erik Cummings, bringing the President’s Message at the 2021 Florida Baptist State Convention annual meeting.
In the opening sermon of the 2021 Florida Baptist Pastors’ Conference, Jimmy Scroggins, pastor of Family Church in West Palm Beach, preached, “This world is full of things breaking apart,” and people “are looking for something that is going to hold together.

Pastor Dwight Woods will be nominated as first vice president of the 2021-22 Florida Baptist State Convention by fellow Panhandle pastor Mike Orr when the meeting convenes in Lakeland, Nov. 8-9.
