A word from Dr. Green…

On behalf of the churches of the Florida Baptist Convention, I express our thanks and appreciation to our Florida Baptist Disaster Relief Team. You have been a tremendous blessing to those impacted by Hurricane Hermine and recently Hurricane Matthew.

The immediate response of our DR teams enabled feeding units to be established within hours of the storms. The DR cleanup and recovery units were mobilized into our communities helping people in the name of Jesus. We are thrilled to report salvation decisions through the witness of our DR volunteers.

The number of meals served exceeds 55,000 between the two weather events.

We are grateful for our DR partners from North Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama and Texas who have responded in Florida. The value of cooperation is on full display through Disaster Relief.

Your gifts to the Cooperative Program and the Maguire State Mission Offering provide resources for this vital ministry. I am appreciative of churches and individuals who have given financially above and beyond in this time of expenditure.

Thank you to Canopy Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee, First Baptist Church of Steinhatchee, First Baptist Church of Crystal River, First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, North Jacksonville Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Melbourne, Frances Baptist Church in Palatka, Turning Point Baptist Church in St. Augustine, Palm Coast Community Church, Hibernia Baptist Church in Fleming Island, Hillcrest Baptist Church in Pensacola and Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola.

These churches allowed disaster relief teams to stage the operations at various levels on their campuses. We are very grateful for your willingness to provide this necessary space for DR efforts. Florida Baptist churches are always ready to respond and minister through the difficult seasons of life.

The amazing team of volunteers who gave their time and efforts to serve others are to be acknowledged. The structure of Florida Baptist Disaster Relief led by Delton Beall is staffed by volunteers from our Florida Baptist churches. You guys rock!!! Thank you for your incredible servant spirit and heart!
