The life of one of Florida Baptists’ own–legendary college football coach Bobby Bowden–is profiled in the inspirational true story, “The Bowden Dynasty: A Story of Faith, Family and Football” in a new film from LifeWay Films.

The film of the life and career of Bowden, the winningest coach in college football, will kick-off the NCAA Football National Championship weekend in January.

Along with his loyal assistants and players, Bowden fought against all odds and countless obstacles to forge one of the greatest achievements in the history of sports.

Most notably, Bowden’s faith is credited as a key to all his success.

The feature documentary’s all-star cast includes: Fred Biletnikoff, the Bowden Family, Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Johnson, Jim Kelly, Burt Reynolds, Nick Saban, Deion Sanders, Charlie Ward, Peter Warrick. Mark Richt, coach of the University of Miami Hurricanes, shares how Bowden led him to faith Christ when Richt was FSU offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

“The most amazing thing about our dynasty years is how consistent we were,” Coach Bowden said. “But what makes those dynasty years so ridiculously satisfying is that we ended each season ranked no lower than number four in the polls, won two national championships, played for three others and won 11 bowl games, including nine in a row. None of us thought about these things at the time. Nor did we plan for them. In hindsight, I realize we accomplished something unique in college football history.”

The Bowden Dynasty event will come to U.S. cinemas for a one-night premiere on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017 live at 6 p.m. ET / 5 p.m.

Also, the film will be premiered in an exclusive event broadcast live from the Mahaffey Theater in downtown St. Petersburg, on the eve of the College Football Playoff National Championship happening across Tampa Bay at the Raymond James Football Stadium in Tampa Jan. 9. The live portion will feature star-studded red carpet celebrity arrivals and interviews. Following the feature presentation will be an exclusive Q&A and presentation with Coach Bowden and special guests.
