Mike Wiggins, senior pastor of Pine Terrace Baptist Church in Milton, will be nominated for first vice president of the Florida Baptist State Convention this year by Ted Traylor, pastor of Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola.

The vote will take place at this year’s annual meeting of the Florida Baptist State Convention, which will take place at Wayside Baptist Church in Miami, November 12-13, 2018.

Having served 30 years as pastor of Pine Terrace, Traylor said Wiggins epitomizes the “stability of commitment.”

“He’s a faithful man and a good leader,” Traylor said of Wiggins.

Wiggins has continued to innovate and make sure ministry stays fresh and relevant to the community Pine Terrace serves. As a leader in his region and across the state, Traylor believes Wiggins will be a wonderful addition to the slate of officers for the Florida Baptist State Convention.

Traylor is especially eager to see what can be accomplished if Wiggins is elected along with Erik Cummings, lead pastor of New Life Baptist Church in Carol City, who is being nominated for state convention president.

“Mike and Erik will serve great together,” Traylor said, noting that between the two they will represent the entire state of Florida well.

“They make a great tandem to represent our state,” Traylor said.

“I am very excited about what God is doing in and through the Florida Baptist State Convention,” Wiggins said. “I am grateful for the opportunity and would consider it an honor to serve if I am elected.  I am humbled by Dr. Traylor’s nomination and confidence in me.”
