Eric Stitts will be nominated by fellow Florida Baptist pastor Paul Purvis to serve as president of the 2024-25 Florida Baptist Pastors’ Conference.

At the 2023 Florida Baptist Pastors’ Conference Nov. 12-13 at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Florida Baptist pastors were challenged by two panel discussions that guided them to understand diversity in the church and to engage a progressive culture.

Florida Baptists will gather to conduct business and celebrate churches working together to expand God’s kingdom when the 2023 Florida Baptist State Convention convenes at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz Nov. 13-14.

Focusing on Matthew 6:33, Florida Baptist State Convention President Paul Purvis urged Florida Baptists not to build a bridge to nowhere, like the Choluteca Bridge in Honduras, but to usher in God’s kingdom in truth, grace, power and glory.

Four Florida Baptist leaders were elected to serve as 2022-23 officers of the Florida Baptist State Convention during its annual meeting Nov. 14-15 in Pensacola.

Declaring that God “is not finished with His Church and His people,” Tommy Green, Florida Baptists’ executive director-treasurer, challenged the State Board of Missions to “dream again” as they “risk everything for the glory of Jesus Christ.”
