Bringing an impassioned sermon to messengers gathered for the 2022 Florida Baptist State Convention annual meeting, Tommy Green, executive director-treasurer of the Florida Baptist Convention, declared, “Florida is poised in this kingdom moment for a kingdom movement.”
Declaring that God “is not finished with His Church and His people,” Tommy Green, Florida Baptists’ executive director-treasurer, challenged the State Board of Missions to “dream again” as they “risk everything for the glory of Jesus Christ.”
Focusing on Jeremiah 32:27, Tommy Green, executive director-treasurer of the Florida Baptist Convention, instructed Florida Baptists to “Buy the land! Buy the land!”

I ask that we continue together in prayer for victims of sexual abuse, abuse survivors, and those whose lives have been shattered by predators and abusers.

Tommy Green’s five-year anniversary as the tenth executive director-treasurer of the Florida Baptist Convention was celebrated by members of the State Board of Missions during its Sept. 18 meeting in Jacksonville.
Rather than a message of retreat, the State Board of Missions heard how the Florida Baptist Convention and its churches are moving forward, celebrating new opportunities to seize God’s blessings in the midst of a pandemic.

2020 has been a roller coaster ride. The decisions made have been difficult and challenging for the church. We have moved forward and backwards trying to navigate the expectations and realities surrounding our lives and churches.
While many organizations have suffered serious setbacks during the COVID-19 pandemic, the State Board of Missions heard how the Florida Baptist Convention has flourished while adjusting their ministries plans to meet urgent needs of churches, pastors and the hungry during this time of extraordinary crisis.
