More than 100 middle and high school students and their families participated in The Invitation, an evening of worship and preparation for the new school year, hosted by First Baptist Church Crestview, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Woodlawn Baptist Church and Live Oak Baptist Church.

It’s a time of great anticipation and also great expense.
In the days leading up to a new school year, students eagerly anticipate the hours filled with learning and being with their friends. At the same time, families often experience financial strain with the need to purchase new clothes, shoes and school supplies.

Each year around this time First Baptist Church in Lake Wales is polishing the final details of the church’s “Back to School Bash”—an extravaganza to celebrate the start of a new school year with bounce houses, water slides, shaved ice and of course, food!
