Despite the damage wreaked by Hurricane Irma in southwest Florida, pastor Timothy Pigg is thankful.

During the regional report testimonies of the Florida Baptist State Convention’s  Tuesday morning session, Pigg shared that First Baptist Church of Immokalee—which he pastors— has seen many come to Christ.

“We have seen dozens of people give their life to Christ and we have seen our church attendance grow,” he said.

Wayne Briant, southwest regional catalyst, accompanied Pigg on stage before the gathering of Florida Baptist messengers.

Pigg expressed his appreciation to Briant and the Florida Baptist Convention who came alongside him to support him and also facilitated partnerships with other Florida Baptist churches.

Because of these partnerships FBC Immokalee completed over 1,300 work orders in their community which included roof repair and clean-up among other things.

“We are a small church in a small town but we have made a big impact.”
