I am excited to announce that I intend to nominate Dr. Brian Stowe, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Plant City, for the office of President of the Florida Baptist Pastors Conference, during our meeting in Miami this November.
Brian has been serving as the Senior Pastor at FBC Plant City for the past 4 years. He previously served as the Senior Pastor of Maysville Baptist Church in Maysville, Georgia for 16 years. He and his wife Bonnie have 4 children: Sarah, Hannah, Andrew and Elizabeth. Dr. Stowe earned his Doctorate in Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in North Carolina and also holds a M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
In early 2018 First Baptist Church completed the first phase of a relocation process. The church moved to their new permanent home on 57 acres. Since that time the church has witnessed significant growth in worship, Bible study groups and baptisms. God is at work in and through FBC Plant City as they have seen 179 baptisms already this year.
Brian loves Florida Baptists and is currently serving as a member of our Florida Baptist Convention State Board of Missions. If elected by his peers, his heart is “to encourage brothers in the midst of the struggles, dilemmas, and joys of ministry.” His prayer for the Pastors Conference would be that Paul’s encouragement to Philemon could be said of Florida Baptist Pastors after we gather.

This summer I had the opportunity to visit FBC Plant City and worship with their church family. I experienced first hand the manner in which God is at work. I firmly believe God will continue to work through Brian to encourage Florida Baptist Pastors. It gives me great joy to nominate Dr. Brian Stowe as President of the Florida Baptist Pastors Conference, and I encourage all who gather with us in Miami to affirm his leadership in the coming year.
