Join us as we learn about Royal Ambassadors (RA) and the RA Racer Derby!
Royal Ambassadors (RA) is a missions discipleship group for boys in grades 1–6. RAs provide an opportunity for boys to grow spiritually, physically, mentally, and relationally with others through missions involvement and character development. One of the most iconic and joy-filled traditions of the RA program is Royal Racers derby car racing. The RA Racer Derby is offered for boys in grades 1-6 as a fun activity, emphasizing good sportsmanship. Utilizing Royal Racer car kits, boys design, shape, paint and race wooden derby cars, discovering the thrill of craftmanship and the character-building lessons that come through friendly competition.
The race is for two divisions:
- LAD Division: Grades 1, 2, & 3
- CRUSADER Division: Grades 4, 5, & 6
Trophies or medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for SPEED in each division.
Boys do not have to be in RAs to participate.
One adult (age 18+) leader is required for every 6 boys.
Royal Racer car kits may be purchased at https://wmu.com/shop-wmu/children/royal-ambassadors/. Pre-built cars will be available for boys to borrow if they cannot bring their own. Pine Wood Derby car kits available through Boy Scouts will be accepted, provided they meet the criteria outlined on the Rules and Instructions sheet found HERE.
