Baptist College of Florida | BCF | 2017 Graduation Ceremony

At the 2017 Baptist College of Florida graduation ceremony, Ms. Fran Carlton received the Honorary Doctorate of Christian Letters.  One of the highest honors a college can bestow upon an individual, Carlton received the degree in recognition of her many years of devoted service. Tom Kinchen, president of BCF, presented it, conferring on Carlton all of the rights, privileges and responsibilities that come with such a high honor.

Carlton’s resume includes:

• Florida House of Representatives, 1976-1988, where she was instrumental in beginning prayer groups in the House
• First woman president of the National Alumni Association of the University of Florida
• Clerk of the Court for Orange County in Orlando, Fla.

In addition to serving as a BCF Trustee, Carlton holds many honors and awards as a Florida leader, and is known for her tremendous faith and devoted service to the Lord.
