Florida Baptists have a channel in place where they can impact poverty worldwide through the Hunger Awareness Offering. Many Florida churches will observe the offering in July, but others may choose to participate in the Southern Baptist Convention World Hunger Emphasis in October.

Undated promotional materials produced by the Florida Baptist Convention can be used for either observance and are available free of charge.

Gifts to both hunger offerings are received by the State Convention, which allocates the funds in this percentage distribution: 60 percent to the International Mission Board for worldwide hunger relief; 15 percent to the North American Mission Board to fight hunger in the U.S.; and 25 percent remains in the state to help Florida Baptists churches and associations meet local hunger needs in their community.
