The African-American Ministries Division exists to provide leadership to the Florida Baptist Convention’s strategy for reaching Florida’s African-Americans with the Gospel of Christ by working closely with Florida Baptist associations, local churches and pastors, as well as other Florida Baptist Convention staff. The African-American Ministries Division develops strategy planning, conducts and evaluates ministries to African-Americans and administers a comprehensive program to start and develop distinct Southern Baptist African-American churches. These tasks are accomplished through regional field missionary personnel. The director serves as a liaison to other African-American Baptist denominations.
